Glitterati

Sequin Hi-Tops by Converse (Images via Google and styled by yours truly)

I seem to be extremely productive just before sleep beckons, as always. So I caught sight of this particular glitter sweater and decided to have it paired up with more shiny stuff and the best contender to put on this outfit - Miss Chloe Norgaard. I've been quite a fan of her delectable hair I just wished I was blonde (not literally) so I can smack on any tubs of hair colour any time I want. That aside, I've had the biggest weak spot for all things shiny so there goes.

Been shopping lesser as of late because I'm broke and I've got waaaay too many clothes. But it's not going to stop me of dreaming up of an outfit I pictured in my mind so I've decided to turn to photoshop and some "styling". I guess pairing up items and making them "work" is my past time... am not the real professional so thus, this space for all my random things I like (to do).

Anyway I thought this would be a great track, and to probably build up the whole look hahah. Alright I kid, here goes, Get Free by Major Lazer:

Speaking of which, it's about the end of summer and I'm just left with about another week before Melbourne comes to an end. Not exactly having the time of my life mailing out my resume excessively but anything goes.

Reminders, reminders. Let's hope no one gets lost in the midst of all this chaos.

Have a good night!

Summer you are yummy and wonderful (minus the heat waves).

But I'm heading to New Zealand for a week of cold stint tomorrow.

Cloud9

So I've had a great weekend in the sun catching Laneway Festival (I wished the crowds were less tall but I actually caught Lorde!) and a basketball game. Think I fell a little sick so I had a two hour nap which... brought me to this. It happened because I was staring straight at a cloud-shaped magnet that was stuck on the bed frame upon waking up, plus I've always been a fan of all these cute things so this came to mind.

Drew this up in half a day. I like the end product because I would totally want to rock an outfit like that. It's always fun to draw up outfits because I can always "create" something I like rather than try working with the boring staples I already have.

These days I've just been thinking about more projects to work on. I know it's all "clothing" but soon enough I'll get down to others when I actually feel like doing it. Some of you who know me personally may know I love shopping and all so I'm actually just intensifying my shopping interest into a real hobby with all these random drawings.

Also, while working on this I was checking out How Two Live's (two fashionista sisters from Melbourne) blog and came across i make. you wear it. by Rachel Burke.

What Rachel does is amazing - she hand makes these cute and quirky clothing and frames (that I would totally wear!) inspired by all things whimsy and pretty. On top of it all, these handmade clothing which are one of a kind, are actually auctioned out bi-monthly for charity. I wish I had talent like that.

I would definitely be glad to don this Sailor Moon inspired hair <3

Good day xx

01

I've been having a tonne of random ideas to kick start my new year (and new blog) and this one struck me after watching the Australian Open. I'm not much of a tennis enthusiast but I must say the wave has caught me on it and it's been an exciting time watching legendary players like the R. Fed hah.

So I randomly had the idea of putting together a shift dress ensemble to match the tennis theme. I've always been fond of bright, neon hues as well as sporty looking attires. Preppy uniforms are my also my weakness (!!!) After much tweaking on Illustrator, picking out an appropriate visor from "I still love you NYC" and a pair of Nike runners, I came up with this (above).

I can't say it's the best when it's up against the real deal out there but after day dreaming of matching the endless amount of clothes from my wardrobe, I finally got down to drawing a piece of clothing from scratch. Pretty happy with the end result from a random improvisation. A friend of mine, Nicolette, suggested that maybe I should work on a series of sports-inspired clothing so I might think about doing that if I have the time. More for me to work on now! Hah.

Melbourne has been extremely inspirational in my transition and my approach towards ideas. I've been trying to actually get down to executing (or at least die trying) from the inside of my mind. I think it's high time I actually spent some quality time working on my own ideas and finally having a space to put them into which is why I made the jump from POCKETTO.

I guess this is actually a pretty good start. I would also like to end off my post (with a tonne of cheese) with Lorde's (congrats to your big Grammy wins!) Tennis Court:

I can't wait to watch her soon. Alright, good day!

Brand new

It’s a change. And I am going to be as honest as I can be.

2013 was a year of experimentation, fulfilment and learning to let go.

I have understood that the beauty of writing and sharing doesn’t lie in just writing something for the sake of it, but also, when it heals and allows the self to explore, learn and become more aware of what and who the self is.

POKOPOCKETTO did not take off as I hoped for it to be; it was something I created out of eagerness and excitement. Simply said, it was a project that my life’s direction has fallen out of path with. I had tried to carry it, only realizing I have other matters that I truly care about instead of sharing and forwarding articles for the sake of it.

This new space is renamed Pocket Wonder because I still believe that some things are worth remembering as pure magic despite this transitional phase in my life. I still have a knack for glitter, little toy displays and the sentiment that things that fit in your pocket are easy to carry and perhaps, understand.

2014 marks the year of healing, exploration and comprehension, as well as appreciation for the things that I care about in my life.

I view this new space as a new chapter in my journey. Goodbye to the overdose of "in-trend" posts (for the sake of it), and hello to all the things I care about (I still care about fashion enough hahah).
